Mission Ethiopia has also partnered with the The Presbyterian Church of Ethiopia which was founded by missionaries among the Neur people in Southern Ethiopia. During the communist rule in Ethiopia the Presbyterians were forced to join with the Lutherans as one denomination. While this union has had positive benefits, the PCE leaders recently asked the EECF for permission to bring back the Presbyterian form of government. The goal of this return to their theological roots was chosen in order to more effectively pursue the mission of planting churches and of reaching tribes in the surrounding area more effectively.

Fikre is one of the key leaders of the PCE. He became a Christian during the Communist rule in Ethiopia. He lost his job as an electrical engineer because of his faith. Fikre accepted the call to become a pastor, and while in Bible College he embraced the Westminister Confessions. He chose to plant Presbyterian churches. Later he discovered the Presbyterian Churches among the Neur people. Together they are committed to a very aggressive church planting strategy. Three of their church planting efforts are with unreached people groups.

In the last two years Mission Ethiopia has chosen to partner with the PCE because of their aggressive efforts to plant churches. Since we have partnered with them 4 churches have been planted.
